In attendance: Doreen, Louis, Sandra, Shelly, Nancy, Brady, Dana, Jennifer
Recap of the Blood Pressure Event: 120 people had their bloodpressure checked. Well
received by staff. For follow up will do the PPT presentation on the wellness site. Good turnout
by staff in all locations. Worked well in both PD (shift change) and also at PW (lunch time).
Kudos to Sandra & Doreen for pulling it off. And big thanks to the student nurses.
Dana shared that the Strategic Plan committee (SPIT) is going to move to a quarterly basis.
First quarter health is the topic: They expect to have a healthy focus (Heal Cities). March is
going to focus on speeding. February, Universal mobility (moving, access). We may want to
include this knowledge in the planning.
Term Limits/Roles (15 Minutes)
■ Transition/overlap-Not discussed
■ Roles — changes or another year of keeping current roles. Last time we talked about
moving away from 3 things, but focusing on one "high impact" event and a
communication. We also talked about using other citywide events as a marketing.
■ New format for roles:
• Group decided to shift to partners and go with one activity/training and a
communication.
• Communications will split % year between 2 people.
• We all help out as needed, but the partners for a quarter are responsible
for planning, coordination, and finding the article for the quarter.
2018— Planning (20 minutes)
Survey: Drafted-but not mailed out. Discussed getting it out really fast.
Discussion around 2018:
Kathleen mentioned that her department had some concerns about people over sharing
and HIPPA. her group had a whole list of high impact type of events they'd like to
* Coed softball or other types teams
* Boot camp class at lunch (Amy may do)
* Boot camp sharing with public in a park
* Battle of the stars-department challenge
* Healthy eating-brownbag lunch, share the recipe potlucks
• Once a quarter salad bar in lunch room.
• Group discussion of the fact that there is the Well Works. We could do one quarter with a
fitness competition focus utilizing Well Works
• Heal cities ended up as the focus for the SPIT because they wanted to shift the focus to a
more positive look at things.
