In 2020, Tigard voters approved a Police Services Levy to address significant police staffing shortfalls.
The levy authorized an additional$0.29/$1,000 on assessed property value to fund nine additional
police officers and associated support staff, as well as specialized crisis intervention training. The levy is
authorized for five years and will need to be renewed by the voters to continue.

At this time,the Police Department has filled all levy-funded
officer positions. However,due to attrition,the department is in „°° 53°%a °a „
