gDiversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging(DEIB)is a citywide initiative guided by Leadership and internal
DEI team to empower team members in a journey toward belonging in our workplace and community.
Project Description:
We are committed to achieving racial equity and belonging by dismantling the institutional racism that has prevented people of color
and other marginalized protected glass groups from fully participating in civic engagement, living life with psychological safety, and
the ability to build the lives they desire for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Background:
Our Community Promise, the lens of equity through which we evaluate and implement our actions, highlights our goal to ensure
just and fair inclusion where all can participate, prosper, and reach their full potential. Our objective is to encourage a workplace
culture of respect, dignity, belonging, and care where employees can bring their whole and best selves to work.We believe
that by honoring our intrinsic differences and creating an inclusive environment we can more effectively serve the residents,
businesses, and visitors of Tigard.

practices will help build trust and in turn create stronger relationships that lead to more accessible city services for all community
members.Tigard is stronger when all members of our community are valued, celebrated, and empowered. When our community is
empowered to share ideas and participate in community and civic opportunities, that allows our team to appropriately respond to
