13 ARRESTED IN SHOPLIFTING BLITZ
A hugely successful shoplifting blitz was held at stores throughout the Washington
Square Mall area Wednesday, leading to 13 arrests and the recovery of several
thousand dollars in merchandise.
Through the blitz, police officers and
detectives team up with loss prevention
employees to saturate a specific area. In
real time, they watch for people who are
shoplifting or engaging in other criminal
activity and work together to make
arrests. The goal is to show criminals
that police take proactive measures to
stop them.

recovered at least $8,000 in

The following people were arrested:
1. Jason Diaz: theft 1
2. David Pollard: theft 1, arrest warrant x4
3. David Shaw: theft 1
4. Breajanae Person: theft 2
5. Jesse Robinson: theft 3
6. Bishop Stanley: arrest warrant
7. Reese Butcher: theft 2 x2
8. A 17-year-old boy: theft 1

9. A 17-year-old girl: theft 1, possession of burglary tools
10. Catlin Marmon: theft 1, arrest warrant x3, felony possession of controlled
substance
11. Rosa Gomez-Godinez: theft 2, giving false information to police, possession
of burglary tools, arrest warrant x3
12. Marco Trapala Gomez: identity theft, theft 2, arrest warrant x3
13. Jessica Alexander: theft 2
According to detectives, many of the criminal suspects who were arrested appeared
to know what they were doing and came to stores with specialized devices, bags or
other tools to interrupt retail anti-theft devices.
This blitz would not have been possible without an enormous amount of
interagency cooperation and support. We'd like to thank loss prevention
employees, patrol officers, mall security, the Washington County Sheriff's Office,
the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and the Washington County District
Attorney's Office for their assistance.
