Apply to Join the Library Board!
Would you like to have an impact on the decisions made at your
library? Would you like to have a say in the library’s future? The
City of Tigard is seeking to fill an opening on the Library Board for
an Alternate position. The term will begin in January and will run for
two years. The Library Board currently meets virtually on Microsoft
Teams on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The
Tigard Library Board is an advisory board to the City Council.
If you are interested in applying, fill out a Boards and Committees
Application form or apply on-line. Both options are available at
www.tigard-or.gov/vacancy.
Return the completed application to Tigard City Hall by 11:59 p.m.

Super Readers Book Club: Measuring Up

Virtual Program | Kids in grades 3-5
Calling all Super Readers! Are you a 3rd-5th grader who loves to
read, talk about books, and do fun activities? Join other like-minded
kids for a virtual meetup to talk about the graphic novel Measuring
Up by Lily LaMotte and enjoy an activity together. Register now!
All participants will receive a copy of the book to keep! You will
receive an email when your book is available for pickup from the
library.

Drop in to build with our LEGO® bricks and explore a featured tech
toy. We’ll have all the supplies; you bring your curiosity and

Thursday, November 17 | 5-7 PM
Burgess Community Room | Teens in grades 6-12
Whether you’re a new fan or a long-time stan, meet up for an
evening of squee over Alice Oseman’s comic and show. The first
10 to sign up will get a free copy of the newly released
Heartstopper Yearbook! Register here.

Holocaust Remembrance on the 84th
Anniversary of Kristallnacht, with Anneke
Bloomfield
Wednesday, November 9 | 6-7:30 PM
Burgess Community Room | Adults & Teens
Holocaust survivor Anneke Bloomfield will talk about her
experiences under Nazi persecution during WWII. This event is on
the anniversary of a concerted assault on the Jews of Germany
and Austria, now thought to be the first clear harbinger of the
Holocaust to come. Advance registration is required.

We can also browse our shelves and select materials we think you might be interested in. Tell us what
you like here, and we'll pull a stack of items, then check them out to you.
