Tigard Public Library Offers Curbside Pick-
up Only Sunday, Sept 4
On Sunday, September 4, we will offer curbside holds pick-up
service only, due to unanticipated staffing shortfalls. We will resume
our normal hours on Tuesday, September 6.
To pick up your holds:
Visit the library 10 AM-6 PM
Park in one of the designated spaces
Call 503-718-2790
A library teammate will bring your holds to you
Library Closed Monday, Sept 5
Tigard Public Library will be closed Monday, September 5 on
observance of Labor Day. Online resources are available online
24/7.
New Library Hours Begin Friday, Sept 9
Beginning Friday, September 9, Tigard Public Library will be open
10 AM-6 PM on Fridays. This small change will allow us to have
more teammates ready to help at our busiest times.
Tigard Public Library's hours beginning Friday, September 9:
Monday-Thursday: 10 AM-8 PM
Friday-Sunday: 10 AM-6 PM

Get Ready to Vote!
Saturday, September 17 | 3-5 PM
Burgess Community Room | All Ages
Mid-term elections are coming! Register to vote or check your
registration status so you don’t miss the chance to participate in our
democracy. Members of Tigard’s Youth Advisory Council will be
there to help! Folks of all ages can learn about voting and
participate in a mock election to choose which Library mascot will
be our Honorary President.

Indoor, In-Person Storytime Returns Sept 6
The season's are changing, and it's time to bring Storytime back
inside! Visit for indoor, in-person Storytime for babies, toddlers, and
families beginning in September in our Burgess Community Room.

first come, first served basis.

Burgess Community Room | Teens in grades 6-12
You know what the library needs? YOU! Be a leader. Join Teen
Library Council and help plan events for all ages and set the
direction for teen library services, all while earning volunteer credit.

There and Back Again Book Club
Saturday, September 10 | 10:30 a.m.-noon
Burgess Community Room | Adults
Join us for a hybrid walking book club! We will meet in the
Community Room at the library and walk along the Fanno Creek
Trail where everyone can discuss what they’re reading, share
recommendations, or just chat with other book lovers. Afterwards,
we’ll return to the library to talk about this month’s book selection,
Winter Counts by David Heska Wanbli Weiden.
Banned Book Club: Gender Queer
Thursday, September 22 | 6:30-7:30 PM
Online Event, Registration Required | Adults & Teens 15+
This Banned Books Week, we will discuss the most challenged
book of the last year, Maia Kobabe’s landmark memoir Gender
Queer. Join this online, mediated conversation to discuss the book
and consider some of the challenges that have been made against
it. Copies of Gender Queer will be available for the first 20 to
register. Register now!

Mark Your Calendar for the First Annual El Tigre Fest!
Hispanic Heritage Month celebration will culminate with the City of Tigard's first annual El Tigre Fest
on Saturday, October 15 at Dirksen Park. El Tigre Fest is a family-friendly cultural event with authentic
Latin American food, arts & crafts, dancing, live music, and children’s activities. Contact Leandro
Barrientos to learn about sponsorship and volunteer opportunities.
