Happy National Volunteer Week!
Happy National Volunteer Week (April 17th—April 23rd)to our wonderful library volunteers! Since the
library reopened its volunteer program in April 2021, over 70 volunteers have donated approximately
3,500 hours of service to the library. Volunteer opportunities include planting and weeding for our front
landscaping project, reshelving materials, pulling patron requests, processing new materials,
processing inter-library loans, updating our newspaper selection, de-processing materials, special
events (MILK Weekend of Service), Teen Library Council meetings, Library Board meetings, and our
Friends of the Library who update and manage the lobby book sale. Our volunteers are diverse and
offer a unique skill set to the library, its patrons, and the City of Tigard. Thank you, library volunteers,
for all you do for your community!
