%" diameter steel foundation probe was used to assess subgrade conditions. Subgrade generally consisted of
brown silt and clay or decomposed basalt. Probe resistance indicated generally medium stiff to stiff subgrade
conditions. Loose crushed rock was observed over the surface of lot subgrade. We recommend tightening the
crushed rock surface.
OUTSTANDING ISSUES
Lot 221
I observed crews had excavated the entirety of the lot and had loosely placed approx. 6" crushed rock over
subgrade. Subgrade observed, including areas that were previously observed as soft, was generally medium-
stiff to stiff. I was informed the footing near the slop had been deepened by approx. 2-ft, and survaey
indicated the footing met the recommended minimum 5-ft horizontal set back.
Lot 222
I observed crews had excavated the lot to approx. planned grade (see site plan). I observed loose crushed rock
over the subgrade. We recommend tightening the crushed rock surface.
Conclusion
Based on our observations, it is our opinion the subgrade for lots 221 , 222, 223, and 209 as observed today, as
indicated on the attached site plan, has been prepared in general accordance with our geotechnical
recommendations.
