Sponsored by the Friends of the Tigard Library N atloolal Voluoteer Week _ April 19-2k 2021 April 18-24 is this year's National Volunteer Week. The library's volunteer program was suspended on March 13, 2020 in order to halt the spread of COVID-19. Normally, the library would host an awards ceremony the Sunday of National Volunteer Week to celebrate volunteerism and honor volunteers who've reached certain milestones in their volunteer service. Additionally, the awards ceremony allows for library and staff to celebrate and honor volunteers who passed away throughout the previous year. The library has decided to wait to host the volunteer awards ceremony, but we'd like to honor our volunteers who've passed away within this past year. Read below about our wonderful volunteers who are greatly missed. In Memoriam 3 of 6 April 2021 Julie Blume Circulation volunteer Julie Blume began volunteering in 2013 as a Circulation Specialist. A shift working with Julie meant there'd be great conversation and lots of jokes shared, as Julie was known for her wonderful sense of humor. Julie was a supreme volunteer, friend, and library enthusiast and is greatly missed.
