COVID-19 cases are on the rise throughout the country, including in Washington County. There is broad concern about the spread of the delta variant, and about protecting those who are unable to get vaccinated. The City of Tigard, including the Tigard Public Library, is following CDC, OHA, and Washington County Public Health Department recommendations by requiring masks or face coverings inside public spaces. So next time you come visit us at the library, please bring your mask! We continue to offer curbside holds pick-up for those who are unable or prefer not to wear face coverings. f New in August 1 of 5 Tigard Public Library STRATEGIC PLAN -A iid PLAN ESTRATEGICO de la biblioteca publica de Tigard A New Strategic Plan for Tigard Public Library! Since April, a team of volunteers and city and library staff, including an Oregon State University Master Gardener, have weeded, scraped, spread soil and mulch, placed rocks, dug holes, planted, and watered plants in hopes of implementing a self sustaining native ecosystem for the front of Tigard Public Library. The library is taking every precaution necessary, including ongoing weeding, amending the soil, and covering specific plants from sunburn. The city is in the process of installing an irrigation system. Until it is installed, library staff and volunteers will continue to water every morning. If you are interested in watering, we'd love to have you! Volunteers 14 and over are welcome, and volunteers 6 and older are welcome with an adult. Watering on average takes 60-90 -minutes and can be done any time in the morning. Sign-up for a watering shift here. For questions, contact Katie at KatherineN@Tigard-OR.gov.
