Watch for 2-Way Traffic
We have been working with the City of Tigard Streets team to allow
traffic flow that matches the ways drivers use the parking lot. The
Streets team determined that the parking lot is wide enough to
accommodate flow of traffic in two directions. Tigard's Development
Code 18.410-4, states that off-street parking with 90 degree
parking stalls requires a minimum aisle width of 20 feet for 2-way
traffic. The Library parking lot has a 24 foot aisle width, which
allows ample room to maneuver.
The biggest factor in parking lot safety is drivers moving slowly, so
drive safely and watch out for your fellow motorists and
pedestrians.
