07/13/1976 - Minutes Tigard Water District 7-76 Regular Meeting July 13, 1976 PRESENT: Clarence F. Nicoli, Chairman Hugh A. Brown, Secretary Don W. Thomas R. Verne Wheelwright Robert E. Santee, Administrator John P. Miller, Foreman Kenneth W. Baines, Attorney VISITORS: Cheryl Beshears, Tigard Times Stuart Nestor, The Oregonian Contractors interested in bid opening: Robert M. Jockim The meeting was called to order by Chairman Nicoli at 7:30 p.m. Motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the last meeting, as written. Motion carried unanimously. Motion was made and seconded to pay the vouchers. Motion carried unanimously. Motion was made by Verne Wheelwright and seconded by Hugh Brown to award the contract to excavate and remove approximately 60,200 cubic yards of soil in preparation for construction of a 10-million gallon reservoir to the apparent low bidder, F d F Dozing, Amity, Oregon, subject to staff analysis. Motion carried unanimously. (See attached summary of bids). Motion was made by Verne Wheelwright and seconded by Don Thomas to transfer the district's water rights to 2,500 acre-feet of Scoggin Dam impoundment to the Hillsboro-Forest Grove Joint Water Commission with the provision that the district can attain those rights back with three (3) years prior notice. Motion car- " ried unanimously. -1- ti • X Tigard Water District Minutes (Continued) Motion was made by Verne Wheelwright and seconded by Hugh Brown to authorize Mr. R.C. Newcomb, Consulting Geologist, to conduct a ground water study for the triangular area formed by Tigard, Wilsonville, and Newberg at a cost of $1,600. Motion carried unanimously. Motion was made by Verne Wheelwright and seconded by Don Thomas to award the contract to purchase 320 lineal feet of 48" and 60 lineal feet of 24" corrugated steel pipe, including accessories, to the apparent low bidder. Motion carried unani- mously. Bids were as follows: Oregon Culvert Co., Inc $ 5,600.00 Armco Steel Corporation 9,596.00 Motion was made by Verne Wheelwright for the water district to provide water for two proposed drinking fountains and to pro- vide labor to assist in installation of same if and when a donor is found to purchase the fountains. This was in response to a letter from the City of Tigard dated June 22, 1976. (See 41a„ Administrator's report). The motion died for lack of a second.
