04/10/1973 - Minutes Tigard Water District 322nd Regular Meeting April 10, 1973 PRESENT: Clarence F. Nicoli, Chairman Don W. Thomas, Secretary R. Verne Wheelwright Lester L. Rawls (arrived 8:37 p.m.) Robert E. Santee, Administrator John P. Miller, Foreman The meeting was called to order at 7:38 p.m. by Chairman Nicoli. Motion was made to approve minutes of last meeting, as written. Motion carried. Visitors: Neil Longfellow (Calvin Presbyterian Church) Joe Schafer (Tigard Times) John E. Smets (Smets Machinery Co.) David G. Baldwin (Southern Pacific Land Co.) Ronald J. Honeyman (Linden B. Bowman Realtor) Ted Nelson (Ted Nelson Co., S. W. 72nd Avenue) 'aur Discussion was held on Mr. Smets' request for the installation of a fire hydrant near the Lake Oswego pump station in the vicinity of 6830 S. W. Bonita Road. The latter four individuals named above appeared before the Board regarding this subject. Mr. Smets was advised of the district's mechanical problems which would result if a fire hydrant were connected to the 16-inch transmission main. Mr. Smets was referred to the Metzger Water District. Motion was made to pay the vouchers. Motion carried. Motion was made to amend the resolution of last meeting to annex Summerfield to also include the property along 98th Avenue, north of Durham Road. Motion carried. Motion was made to require Tualatin Development Company to pay one- half the cost of a 6-inch main installation, if and when installed, along S. W. Durham Road, adjacent to Summerfield development. Motion carried. Motion was made authorizing district to pay the cost of installation only of a 6-inch pressurized main paralleling an 8-inch gravity main for Vantage Crest Homes on 144th Avenue, south of Bull Mt. Road. Motion car- ried. Motion was made to purchase 1-ton dump truck from lowest, acceptable bidder. Bids were received from Knauss Chevrolet, $4,758.53, and Randall °'— Chevrolet, $5,142.27. Motion carried. Motion was made to purchase 1.5 acres of land on Little Bull Mountain adjacent to reservoir #1 for future reservoir site from Calvin Presbyterian Church for $11,000. Motion carried. Lester Rawls submitted his resignation as commissioner, effective immediately, due to business commitments. Motion was made to accept, reluctantly, his resignation. Motion carried.
