02/09/1949 - Minutes FIFTY FIFTH REGULAR MEETING ,�.. Tigard Water District February 9, 1949 Present: Chairman Cook, Board Members Selliken, Beals, Boennighausen, Attorney Wheelock, Supt. Dickson, Mrs. Hall. Absent: Board Member Lenz. Meeting was called to order by Mr. Cook and minutes of previous meeting of January 12th, 1949 were approved as read. heports submitted by Mrs. Hall included monthly cash and disbursement report, budget figure comparison for first six months and recapitulation of cash and disbursements for the first six months July 1 to Dec. 31, 1940. These reports, together with delinquent account and meter installations reports, were accepted as submitted. Moved and seconded that the Superintendent be instructed to take out the Jess Coppers meter unless the account is paid up in ten days and Mr. Coppers to be notified to that extent. Motion carried. Mr. Dickson reports on the Grade School meter that he called the Neptune Meter Co. representative and asked him to check the meter. The Neptune man advised the meter could not be checked on the job. Mr. Dickson discussed the matter ` "" with Mr. Blevins who had the Neptune man up to the high school and he thought the meter had been checked some time before he was Supt. Mr. Hassell was called and he informed Mr. Dickson that there had been a new meter at the grade school two or three years ago. Mr. Dickson checked back of the school and found a hose, which connected to the faucet, lying in the road and running wide open. He told the Principal at the Grade School about it. It was decided that the Grade School Board be notified that the meter will be checked and if the meter is found to be all right, the School Board should pay the bill and if not, the Water Board will pay the bill,t he School Board to advise us if such an arrangement is agreeable. National Bank 8.47 712 State Ind. Accident Comm. 4.51 0673.02 Mr. Wheelock reported on charges of Trust Dept., U. S. National Bank, for paying interest and bonds. Thentract between the District and the holder �1 of thebonds provides the Bank the agent, but the contract does not include any agreement on charges to be made for such service. Mr. Wheelock did not suggest any change but said if any further arrangement made on any new bonds issued, the arrangement should include.. a schedule of charges for such payments. J Mr. Wheelock also advised that orders had been signed by the County Court on annexation of Tigardville Heights. There was some discussion as to actual petitions received for annexation since Mr. Cook had been approached on another section that thought they were being included in the annexation. Mr. Cook to check petitions he has to see if such petition was ever received. Mr. Wheelock had only the two petitions — for Tigard ville Heights and for Gaarde Ave., and the Gaarde Ave. group had decided against annexation. Mr. Dickson hadbeen approached by Mrs. Bob Cole for purchase of a meter, since she wanted to sell water to her daughter and wanted to buy a meter for that purpose. The Board advised Mr. Dickson that Mrs. Cole should purchase a meter direct from the meter company and not through the Water Board. Mr. Dickson quoted prices on copper tubing and meter for the well. We can get 3/4" copper tubing regularly priced at 35t foot for 28¢ foot by going in with Hillsboro. Motion by Beals, seconded by Selliken that Mr. Dickson purchase ten rolls of copper tubing if he can get it at 28¢ foot. Motion carried. The cost would be 4168.00 for ten rolls at 28¢ foot. Meter at the tank could be had in three different types, with prices as follows: Compound meter — 4040.00 less 10% 4" meter — $520.00 Saddle meter recommended in 6" size — $280.00. The matter of purchasing meter for the well was dropped temporarily. Mr. Dickson had several prices on pipe locator and pipe pusher, as follows: Pipe locater could be had at $195.00 Pipe pusher — one style at 4219.75 Pipe pusher — ratchet type — y235.00 Mr. Dickson to check further on type of pipe pusher most suitable for our needs. Discussion followed on the purchase of a truck for the Tigard Water District. Prices submitted on used trucks included a 1940 pickup at $825.00 and a 1942 panel at 095.00. Mr. +Vheelock gave information as to cost of a new ,Chevrolet pickup which he had purchased for one of his clients. Motion made by Boentighausen, seconded by Selliken, carried, that the Superin— tendent buy a new Chevrolet pick—up if it can be purchased for less than $1500.00.
