Regular Meeting of April 20, 1939:
The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Tigard
dater District, Washington County, Oregon, was held at the First rank of
Tigard, within the District, at 7:30 F.M., April 20, 1939. '""m`
Present : Chairman Johnson and Commissioners Leslie, Vincent, Lewis,
and Commissioner-appointee August 3chubring.
August Schubring, Qualified as commissioner of Tigard dater District by
taking and subscribing the oath of office as hereto attached.
Minutes of meeting of March 16, 1239, approved.
Report of Superintendent for March, 1939, received and filed.
PL & PD Policy on Truck, Firemen's Ins. Co. of Newark, N.J., and The
Metropolitan Casualty Ins. Co. of N. Y., No. FM-5964, effective from March
24, 1939 to March 24, 1240, received and filed.
Father Rogers of the Catholic School appeared before the Board, requesting
the Board's permission in installation of a used 2-inch meter in service con-
nection, contending price of installation with new 2-inch meter at 05 was too
high. The board denied permission to install a used meter. The question of
reduction, if any, in the price of 05 for 2-inch service connection, referred
to C. E. Carter, Engineer.
Mr. Heppner appeared before the Board, asking that the Board reconsider
its decision of last meeting, denying Mr. Heppner's request that the District
lay pipe to his property over his private right-of-way. --Denied.
Standpipes for fire protection: question of cost of standpipes for fire
protection referred to C. E. Carter, Engineer. Mr. Carter recommended that
the District install such standpipes at cost during period of system construct-
ion. That the District furnish water without charge, for fire protection only.
Require each such applicant for standpipe to agree in writing to use the water
for fire protection only, and upon Violating this restriction, to have service
to such standpipe permanently discontinued. --Adopted.
