06/09/1948 - Minutes FORTY EIGHTH REGULAR METING June 9, 1948 Present: Chairman Cook, Board Members Selliken Osborne, Barber, Attorney Hathaway, Supt. Dickson, Mrs. Hall. Meeting called to order by Chairman Cook. Minutes of meeting of May 12th approved as read. Minutes of special meeting of May 19th approved as read. Motion made by Mr. Farber, seconded by Mr. Osborne that the Board approve the date, time and publication set by previous informal action of the Budget meeting at June 23, 1948. Motion carried. Motion made by Mr. Barber, seconded by Mr. Selliken, that balance of $3.00 on John V. Tatlow account be eliminated. Motion carried. Notation to be made in register if Mr. Tatlow should return to the community, to collect the 0.00 balance left owing. Motion made by Mr. Osborne, seconded by Mr. belliken, to instruct the Superintendent to take out the meter at John V. Tatlow's. Motion. carried. Motion rade by Mr. Barber, seconded by Mr. Selliken that cash and disburse- !Tent report and delinquent report be accepted and placed on file. Accident Commission 4.54 Total $1397.75 Motion made by Mr. Osborne, seconded by Mr. Selliken that we purchase and install ten additional blow-outs. Motion unaminously carried. Motion made by Mr. Osborne, seconded by Mr. Selliken, that the Water Sunt. negotiate with Air King Mfg. Co. to put in meter and connection, they to pay cost, plus 10%, Air King to make down payment of estimated cost. Motion carried. Motion made by Mr. Barber, seconded by Mr. Selliken that tools as listed by Mr. Dickson be purchased with the exception of pipe pusher and water tester and that those two items be taken up at the next meeting after investigating them further. Motion carried. Report made by Mr. Lenz on truck he was asked to look over which could be purchased from the Elliott Equipment Co. He states it runs good, body good, tires not good, exhaust would have to be fixed and brakes adjust ed, that brakes are not hydraulic, 1935 International for $275.00. Rear end is good-- engine will probably use some oil. Hast a lot of power, thinks they would fix the exhaust and adjust the brakes on it for the price of $275.00. Passed city test in last half of 1946. Speedometer reads approximately 88,000 miles. No action on purchase. Mr. Selliken nominated John Lenz for Commissioner to replace John Acnicker, resigned. Mr. Barber nominated Mr. Embree. No election. Two votes for Mr. Lenz, two votes for Mr. Embree. Motion made by Mr. Osborne, seconded by Mr. Selliken, that we negotiate with Mr. Roy Swint in auditing the books and bringing the audit, which includes the past two years, up to date. Motion carried.
