FIFTY SEVENTH REGULAR MEETING
Tigard Water District

Present: Chairman Cook, Board Members Selliken, Beals, Lenz, Boennighausen,
Supt. Dickson, Mrs. Hall.
Absent: Attorney Wbeelook
Meeting was called t o order by Mr. Cook and minutes of the meeting of March 9th,
1949 were read and approved.
The Cash and Disbursement report, delinquent report, and meter installation reports
were reviewed and accepted as prepared.
The meeting was attende{1 by a delegation from Walnut Avenue and Christensen Road,
and by Mr. Mapes from 'Christenson Road and Gaarde Avenue. Mr. Cook explained that
it was necessary to have a signed petition, with legal description of the property
involved for each owner and that the petitioners must pay for the line installed.
Mr. Forsythe from R. M. Wade & Company attended the meeting to discuss the pump and
the well capacity. Mr. Forsythe had two men at the well and used a static indicator
}n the well. Each foot of the tank would hold approximately 6,300 gallons per foot.
Pump was turned off one hour and fifty minutes and the tank was then remeasured.
This shows the water dropped 41â going out of the tank at the rate of 177 gallons
per minute, during a peak period in the day. The completion of the test indicated
that the pump was pumping at the rate of 230 gallons per minute. Mr. Forsythe
gave us some detailed drawings on the blackboard of the set-up of the pump in the
shaft at the well, and of the tank itself, and some approximate figures on cost of
lowering bawls of the pump in the shaft.
Motion was made and carried that we ask Wade & Compeay for a firm bid for lowering
the bowls 30 feet and putting in an air line gauge.

Bill not approved was that of Jack Simpson, in the mount of $58.25 to ditch
and grpviak Mr. Dicks on's driveway. Mrs. Hall was instructed to secure an
itemized bill frau Mr. Simpson.
Mr. Cook present drawings made by Barr & Cunningham on a reservoir
holding 300,000 gallons.
Moticn rade and carried that Superintendent be instructed to take a
sample of Red Rook Dairy water and have a chemical analysis made of it.
Motion made to adopt a resolution under which the Little Bull Mountain
property, as indicated cn petition received be placed cn the December 1949
ballot. Motion carried.
Moved, seconded and carried that Messrs. Rutherford, C. H. Stearns,
J. P. Lohrenz, P. E. Lewis and Sam Graham be asked to serve on the Budget
Committee for 1949 and that they be notified by letter, requesting their
acceptance.
