Minutes of Special Meeting of Tigard Rater Board
A special meeting of the Board of Directors of the Tigard Yater District
was held at the home of the chairman, Harold L. Cook, on 'a'ednesday evening,
September 28, 1949, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. The meeting was called for the
purpose of considering bids on a pump to be installed in the recently drilled
well on. Bull Mountain, and to award a contract of purchase for such pump.
Now
.Present: Chairman Cook, and Commissioners Selliken, Beals, Boennighausen
and Lohrenz.
Each of the Commissioners present waived the required three days written
notice of the meeting, since this meeting had been called and the time there-
for had been set at the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held
September 14, 1949.
Proposals for pumps were received from the following manufacturers '
representatives as follows :
— From Pacific Company for a Layne and Bowler 10-stage, 10 inch EMI
water lubricated deep well turbine pump, 5209.70
From Pump Pipe & Power Company, for a Cook 11-stage, 10 TR-87
turbine deep well pump, 5175.80
From MiVan Company, for a Pomona 17-stage, 8 inch deep well
turbine pump, 4488.14
From MiVan Company, for a Pomona 9-stage, 10 inch deep well
turbine pump, 4488.14
From R. M. Wade & Company, for a Peerless 9-stage 10 LA deep
well turbine pump, 4488.00
'err From Byron Jackson Company, for an 11-stage submersible
Byron Jackson pump, 4412.60
Upon due deliberation, it was discovered that the submerged motor and pump
bowls on the Byron Jackson submersible pump and the pump bowls on the Pomona
10 inch pump were of such diameter that either of these pumps would effectively
*., plug the well at the point where the bowls were suspended . For this reason,
no further consideration was given to the Byron Jackson pump or to the Pomona
10 inch pump.
Upon further consideration, it appearing that of the remaining bids the
bid of R. 11!. 'riade & Company of $4488.00 for a 9-stage 10 LA Peerless deep
well turbine pump was the low bid, it was moved by Commissioner Boennighausen
and seconded by Commissioner Beals that the Board negotiate with H. M. Wade &
Company for the purchase of the Peerless deep well turbine pump on the basis
of their bid dated September 26, 1949. The motio•. was carried.
Upon motion, the meeting adjourned.
