10/12/1949 - 62 Meeting Minutes SIXTY SECOND REGULAR MEETING Tigard Water District October 12, 1949 Present: Chairman Cook, Board Members Selliken, Beals, Boennighausen, Lorenz, Supt. Dickson, School Board Members Mr. Bullion, Mr. Rutherford and Mr. Swartz, Mr. Doherty, Mr. Hathaway, Mr. Simpson, Mr. Cole and Mrs. Nelson. Meeting was called to order by Mr. Cook and minutes of previous regular meeting of August 9th and special meeting August 27th were approved as read. The delinquent accounts were discussed. Mr. Cook asked that a letter be written to school board showing balance due on account. Mr. Dickson was asked to get what ever information possible on the long past due accounts. A discussion was held with the members of the school board present. Finally it was agreed to take the school meter out and by-pass it so as to give the school service. Mr. Dickson is to take the meter out and return to company for test. The school agrees to pay for the testing and labor and delinquent bill if the meter is not at fault. If it is found that the meter is at fault the water board agrees to make adjustment in the school bill according to previous bills and to pay for the labor and testing of the meter. The school board asked that a letter be written of the delinquent account and a letter verifing the agreement reached. A motion was made and seconded to have this done. The school board also requested that the board not keep a key to the school. Mr. Cook read the correspondence. Motion made and seconded that the R. J. Strasser bill be paid every three months as was agreed to. Motion made and seconded that the money received for meters connecting on mains on Gaarda Avenue and Christenson Road with the excepiton of $40.00 be set up in a special account in books end used either to retire this bond issue or used for U. S. Securities. Mr. Simpson from Bull Mountain, visitor, asked permission to buy water from the Tigard Water District and would use own pipe. Mr. Cole another visitor stAted he would give a gift to the Tigard Water District of meters and mins he'had already installed and access to his property. In return for this he and other parties on his line would receive Tigard Water. It was agreed that the people who would get service were only to pay for the water used by them. No connection service or meter service to be charged. A motion was made and seconded, to inuet Mr. Wheelock to draw up a suitable agreement with Mr. Cole to be ready for the next meeting. Burnham 2116 .76, 1197.52 Mr. Cook requested that a total of current bills be prepared hereafter for each member of the board. Mr. Doherty was asked to speak and spoke very favorably of the water ilodrds actions. Mr. Cook asked for a special meeting to be held the following evening September 15 for opening bids on the pump. Mr. Beals reported he only found three tracings in the safe. Also that the safe should be removed from Mrs. Halls as quickly as possible.
