Tigard Water District
October 10, 1951
Present:- C.F.Selliken, President, Raymond Meyers, Darwin Shinn,
C.L.Osborne, Commissioners, J.P.Lohrenz Supt. , Donald E. Kontz,
Auditor, And C.E.Wheelock ttorney.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read, and Commissioner C.L.
Osborne moved and Commissioner Raymond Meyers seconded that they be
approved as read. The motion carried.
Commissioner C.L.Osborne moved and Commissioner Raymond Meyers seconded
that we accept the Insurance Policy of the Pacific Indemity Co. Steven
and Brewister Agents, number LC 49641, premium of $151.07 The motion
carried.
The delinquent accounts were looked over and discussed. The matter
of collecting them was turned over to the Supt . J.P.Lohrenz for
collection.
The meter installation report was review and passed.
Correspondence from J.&.Johnson was read relative to the Pine Street
installation. The President C.F.Selliken recommended that the Corres-
pondence be turned over to our Attorney C.E.Wheelock for his attention.
Commissioner C.L.Osborne moved and Commissioner Raymond Meyers seconded
that the deposits of the Pine Street property owners of $2400.00 in the
bank be verified and to turn over to the Water Board one executed
copy of the agreement. The motion carried..
The preliminary details labout the election which is to be held
December 3 rd. 1951, were discussed. The Attorney C.E.Wheelock is
to prepare notice of election and the sample ballot. The Clerk is
to have the ballots printed. The clerk is to contact the three
election judges, Gladis Meyer, Catherine Salmon, Eulila Riverman
and and alternate Verna A. Mooter, to see if they will serve.
The installation of the pipe line on the Graham Tract was discussed.
Our agreement provides that the difference between the deposit and
the cost of the pipe line will be reimbursed to Mr. Graham. Also
it is understood that the pipe line is to become the property of the
Tigard Water District.
Commissioner C.L.Osborne moved and Commissioner Raymond Meyers seconded
that we pay the Pacific Water Co. 133$.$6. The balance to be paid
later. The motion carried. This payment Overs the Watkins Ave. and
the Graham Tract.
The Auditor Donald E. Kontz presl"ted to the Board the advisebility
of a Public Relations Promotion Director. It will be the duty of
the director to write news items about the activities of the District
and to have them published in a local news paper. This action is
intended to inform the water users about the activities of the District
and to establish good relations between them and the Board.
Commissioner Darwin Shinn agreed to assume this duty.
As there wets, no futher business, Commissioner C.L.Osborne moved and
Commissioner Raymond Meyers seconed that the meeting adjourn.
The motion carried.
