01/09/1952 - Minutes Eightf Ninth Regular Meeting TigardWater District January 9, 1952. Present:- C,F.Selliken, President, C. L. Osborne, Raymond Meyers, Darwin Shinn, Commissioners, J. P. Lohrenz Supt. , George R. Young and D.W.Proebstel newly elected Commissioners. The minutes of the previous meeting were read. Commissioner C.L. Osborne moved and Commissioner Raymond Meyers seconded that they be approved as read. The motion carried. The report of the delinquent accounts was read and it was satis- factory. The Supt. J.P.Lohrenz read a letter from the Neptune Meter Co. in regard to the test of the meter at the West Coast Telephone Coto place. The meter tested 9$ per cent perfect. When this information was given to them they paid their delinquent bill. Commissioner C. L. Osborn moved and Commissioner Raymond Meyers WOO seconded that the bills be paid. The motion carried. The next order of business was the election of the officers for the comiting year. Commissioner C.L. Osborntwas. nominated for the office of President. Commissioner Raymond Meyers moved and Commissionee D.W.Pr` bstel seconded that the nominations be closed. The motion carried. Up on question Commissioner C. L. Osborne was elected President. Commissioner Raymond Meyers was hominated for the office of Treas- ure. Commissioner Darwin Shinn moved and Commissioner George R. Young seconded that the nominations be closed. The motion passed. Upon question Commissioner Raymond Meyers was elected Treasurer. Commissioner Darwin Shinn was nominated for the office of Secretary. Commissioner C. L. Osborne moved and Commissioner D.LProebstel seconded that the nominations be closed. The motion passed. Upon Qustion Commissioner Darwin Shinn was elected Secretary. The meeting was recessed while the Commissioners expressed their approval of the excellent work done by the retiring President C. F. Selliken. After this Mr. Selliken left the meeting. The meeting was called to order by the newly elected presidend and C. L. Osborne took the chair. The Board instructed Commissioner Darwin Shinn To prepare resolutions expressing theBoardtsappreciation and approval of the good work of Mr. C.F.Selliken during the past year. as President of the Board. Commissioner George R. Young moved and Commissioner D. W. Proebstel seconded that the President C.L.Osborne and Commissioner Raymon 0' Meyers be authorized to sign the checks of the Tigard Water District. The motion carried. The Board instructed the Clerk to write a concerpt of this part of the minutes and have the Supt get the let- ter signed by the officers and then present it to the U.S. Bank Tigard Branch for identification purposes. As there was no futher usiness Commissioner D.W.Proebstel moved and Commissioner Raymond,'nded that the meeting adjourn. e motion carried. '6�j Sec. 14 . Dear Mr. Selliken;- The present Board of Commissioners of the Tigard Water District have become cognizant of your activities in organizing the Tigard Water District and the installation of it's water systec the great improvement in it's water supply by advocating and overcoming res- istance in drilling two deep wells; the unselfish generosity of your time and experience for the betterment of the organization and the people living within and adjacent to the water district; your five years of uninterrupted gratueous service as commissioner; culminating as president of the Board during the last year in which your efficiency and diplomacy was reflected in the congenial conduct of the meetings and the satisfactory financial standing of the district. In gteful recognition of which the board has unanimously ap- proved this citation, signed by each member of the board, to be handed t to you and a copy to be recorded in the minutes of the meeting held January 9, 1952. The board sincerely hopes that you may honor them by attending any of their meetings and that you will feel disposed to act in an advisory capacity for the benifit of the board and the Water District.
