06/10/1953 - Minutes MOP One Hundreth and Sixth Regular Meeting Tigard Water District June 10, 1953 Present: - D.W.Proebstel, President, C.L.Osborne, C.E.Janoe, George R. Young Commissioners, J.P.Lohrenz Supt., G.S.Sanders and C.E.Wheelock Attorney. The minutes of the previous meeting were Lead and approved. A motion was made by C.L.Osborne , C.E.Janoe seconder that the Tigard Water Board approve the Budget as passed by the Budget Committe, and certified by the Secretary of the Board. The motion carried. A motion was made by C.L.Osborne, C.E.Janoe seconder that the Sec. send copies of the Budget to the County Assessor, Washington County, Hills- boro Oregon, Secretary of State, Salem Oregon, and the County Clerk at Hillsboro Oregon. The motion passed. J.P.Lohrenz made a br : 'f report on the meeting of the Oregon Water District. It was stated that the Districts did not get the laws passed in the Legislature that they wanted. During the discussion our Atty. advised that a lean on property for an unpaid bill must be filed be- fore the property is transfered or sold. It was also pointed out that in most cases the cost of filing a lean is more than than the water bill. A letter of resignation from George R. Young was read. C.L.Osborne moved, C .E.Janoe seconder that the resignation of George R. Young be accepted. The motion carried. George R. Young has moved out side of the District and can no longer serve as a Commissioner. C.L.Osborne i omjdated H.J.Heffron as a Commissioner for the rest of the year to take the place of George R. Young. C.L.Osborne moved that the nominations be closed, 6.E.Janoe seconder. The motion passed. C .L.Osborne made a met-ion that H.J.Heffron be ap_ ointed as a member of the Tigard Water Board for the rest of the year. C.E.Janoe seconder. ""' The motion carried. C.L.Osborne moved, C.E.Janoe seconder that C.E.Janoe be appointed Sec. of the Board. The motion carried. C .L.Osborne moved, C.E.Janoe seconder that the bills be paid as listed. The motion carried. The Bond payment was made from the General Fund and not with drawn from the Savings Account. Since the Savings Account draws interest it was agreed to not with draw the amount from the savings account unless it becomes necessary. G.Sanders from the Durham District gave a re :ort on the progress of forming a water district there. I-Ie stated that they wanted Tigard rater. They are in tie process of forming the District.
