11/11/1953 - Minutes One Hundreth and Eleventh Regular Meeting ... Tigard ,�:ater District Tigard, Oregon November 11, 1953 Present:- D.W.Proebstel, President, C.L.Osborne, C .E.Janoe, Darwin Shinn, H.J.Heffron Commissioners, and J.P.Lohrenz Supt. The meeting was opened in the regular manner by the President. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Engineer Maclntyre stated that it would not be practical to run a pipe line between the two tanks as the flow of water between them would not be effecient. He thinks it would be better to install a large new storage tank at well number two and to install a booster pump in such a way to equalize the water in the two tanks ih case of a well failure. C.L.Osborne moved, C.E.Janoe Seconder that Mr. Macintyre prepare a preliminary figure on the size and shape of a tank to hold approxi- mately 200,000 gallons of water. The motion carried. A bad leak occured on the premises of Gorod's store, account # 36. 11950 cubic feet of water ran through the meter. The amount of the bill was $ 30.39. Girod' s billis usually is around $ 2.00 per month. Mr. Girod rents the store from Mr. J.O.Johnson. These men feel that they should not have to pay this bill. The Supt. notified them of the leak when the meter was read and they had the leak repaired immediately. After some discussion about the matter, and since there was no negligence on their part, C.L.Osborne moved, C.E.Janoe Seconder, that 2$.39 the excessive part of the bill be written off, and charged on our books to "allowances on water bills". The motion carried. The above action is not to be used as an example to estab,lish a preCident* or rule in future leaks. Eachcase is to come before the Board, and the decission based on the merits of the case. A letter from Gilliam J. Fredrick Jr.whose address is on Buttler Avenue was read. He felt that he should be reimbursed for water connections made on a pipe line extension which he paid for. C.L.Osborne moved, H.J.Heffron Seconder, That a letter be sent to Mr Fredrick stating the resolution of the Board March 10, 194, which covers the matter. The motion passed. The above letter was written by Atty. C.E.Theelock dated November, 17, 1953 , and sent to Mr. Fredrick Jr. C.L.Osborne moved C.E.Janoe, Seconder that the bills be paid as listed. The motion carried. C.E.Janoe nominated L.C .Nodland for Commissioner to serve the five year term. C.L.Osborne seconder, the nominations be closed. The motion passed. As there was no futher business, C.L.Osborne moved, C.E.Janoe seconder that the meeting adjourn. The motion carried.
