Tigard Water District has completed the drilling of a well on Little Bull lbuntain for a munioipal water supply. The well is a lit" bore, drilled in solid rook to a depth of 381 feet, with a static water level of 188 feet from the surface. Pump tests, conducted for 18 hours duration, showed a capacity of 175 gallons per minute at a pump setting of 250 feet. At this setting the well will produce 33,600 cubic) feet, or 252,000 gallons,of water daily. This is ap- proximately twice the amount of water used by the district at the present time. The Charleton Laboratories tested water from the well and reported that the water is classed as a soft bicarbonate type (56 parts per million). The Now water is quite high in free carbon dioxide, which gives it a slightly acid reaction. The iron content is very low, which is desirable. Dr. Hogl, of Charleton Laboratories, summarizes his report with the statement that the water should be very good for general domestic use. The Tigard District has purchased from War Assets Med nistration a 50,000 gallon reservoir, to be erected on the property adjacent the well, and has purchased a Peerless deep well pump capable of delivering an amount of water equal to the maximum capacity of the well. Delivery is expected momentarily of the necessary pipe to connect with the present main, and bids are called for Dying the pipe and erecting the reservoir. The Tigard commissioners hope to be able to deliver water from the well within thirty days.
