Tigard Water District
August 291 1950
Meeting was held et the home of Commissioner C.F.Sellican.
Present:- H.L.Cook President, A.Boenninghousen, C.F.Sellican,
0,D.Brown, M.D.Levis, Commissioners, Supt. L.P.Lohrenz,H.M. Propet
Clerk, E.E.Wheelock, Atty. Mc Intyre and Rosebraugh, Eng,
Representing Bull Mountain Area, Carl Proud°, Manley Mbwat and
Harold Davidson.
Meeting was called to order by H.L.Cook President. Purpose of the
meeting was to consider and award bids fn. the Bull Mountain Water
main and tank and nump.
The bids considered are as follows:-John Luyben and son $12,700,
Empire Construction Co. 613,500, Rushlight $/2,707, and P.S. Lord
612,955.
Using the water for commercial nurnoses, such as the irregation of
fields of one acre or more was discussed. The opinion finally agreed
upon by the Commissioners was that the water is to be used only for
domestic nurposes.
The Commissioners all concurred that every connection on to the Bull
Mountain pine line is to pay the $40.00 meter charge.
Acharge of fifty cents a piece is to be made to cover postage time and
expense for contribution of money to the original members of hull
Mountain District from each new member connected.
The Commissioners wanted toreduce the system to 30 meters instead
of 40 as planned. After the matter was talked about Commissioner

C,F. Sellicanp proposed that the number be set at 35 meters.
Commissioner A.Boenninghausen seconed, and the proposal passed.
President H.L. Cook read a letter from the State Board of Health,
stating that the nipe line to the Bull Mountain District had been
anproved,
The Commissioners agreed that any one not of the original 15 members
of Bull Mountain District would be required to pay $1000.00 for con-
nection onto the system regardless of how much pipe they used. They
are to pay the established ratefor meter connections.
The contract is to be changed to read 15 members instead of 14. This
was done so that there would be eno72gh money to pay for the system.
Mr. Mc Intyre was asked if he would recommend any of the bidders. He
stated that he knew some of them. It was the o pinion of nost every
one nresent that any of the bidders could do a good job since they
nre bonded.
Commissthner 0.D.Brown moved that the contract be given to the lowest
bidder. Commissioner A. Boenninghousen seconed the motion. During
the question period it was decided to have the chairman Mr. Cook and
the Sec. Mr. Sellican contact the three lowest bidders, and award th
the contract to the one that can secure the the quickest and
have the lerstfttatien done the fastest. The modified motion carried.
The next order of business was the consideration of the bids for the
pump. President H.L.Cook read several letters giving : rices and
data on pumps from several firms. commissioner A. Boenninghousen
moved that the pump be purchased from Wade & co. of Portland Oregon.
Commissioner 0.D.Brown seconed the motion. The motion carried.
