06/12/1956 - Minutes ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTI FIFTH REGULAR MEETING TIGARD WATER DISTRICT TIGARD OREGON June 12, 1956 Present:- L. Nodland, President, C.E.Janoe, Sam Graham, A,J. Chavez, F.K.Held, Commissioners, J.P.Lohrenz, Supt. , C.E. Wheelock, Atty. , G.Lewia, Pres. of Business Mens Club and a representive from Bull Mountain District. The President opened the meeting in the regular manner. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. G.Lewis was given the floor. He stated that the amount of approximately $5000.00 is needed to complete the Fire Hall. He futher stated that the Business Mens Club, of Tigard, Oregon would provide $3000.00 and he wanted to know if by any possible means the Tigard Water District could advance $2000.00 at once, so that the building can be completed. He also stated that efforts are being made to raise money with which to repay the 2000.00but it would take time. Atty. C.E.Wheelock expressed the opinion that the District is not in a position to advance money for above purpose. How ever he wanted a weeks time to investigate the matter, to see if there is a law which would allow money to be advanced. He will then report his findings to the Board. A motion was made by F.K.Held and seconded Sam Graham that C.E.Janoe, report to G.Lewis what the Board is doing about advanc ing the $2000.00 which he requested. The motion carried. A motion was made by C.E.Janoe and seconded by A.J.Chavez that the Tigard Water District accept the annexation of the District on Walnut Avenue as described by the annexation petition duly signed by the property owners of that District. The motion carried. It was agreed that the property owners of above District shall pay the cost of the installation of a four inch main which is adequate to supply their needs. Due to the poss- ibility of locating a future well in that vacinity, to furnish an additional supply of water for the Tigard Water District, the Tigard Water District will install a six inch main from a point where the main from the well will intercept the one on Walnut Avenue to the junction on Christensen Road. The Tigard Water District will pay for the difference in cost between the four inch and the six inch pipe. A motion was made by C.E. Janoe and seconded by Sam Graham that the Tigard Water District accept the annexation of the Cole acres as described by the annexation petion unanimously signed by the property owners of that District. The motion carried. A motion was made by C.E.Janoe and seconded by C.J.0 Chavez that the Budget as presented by the Budget Committee be accepted. The motion carried. r r June 12 th Minutes Continued. A motion was made by F.K.Held and seconded by Sam Graham that the County Assessor of Washington County be notified for a tax levy for the next year of $4500.00. The motion carried. A motion was made by F.K.Held and seconded by Sam Graham that the time for completing the Fire Hall be extended to and including the second Tuesday of August 1956, or August 13, 1956. The motiom carried. A motion was made by C.E.Janoe and seconded by F.K.Held that a letter be written to B.Abrahamson Acct. 1414-19 stating that if the water bill of $14.64 is not paid by the date set by the Supt. that the water be shut off. The motion carried. A motion was made by A.J.Chavez and seconded by F.K.Held that the sum of $16$5.49 be with drawn after July 1st. 1056, from the Savings Account and deposited in the General Fund Account to re- p;ace that amount expended on a Bond and Interest which was due. The motion carried. A motion was made by Sam Graham and seconded by F.K.Held that the bills be paid as listed. The motion carried. A.J.Chevz moved and C.E.Janoe seconded that the meeting ad- journ.
