National Public Works Week G iy ref Tigan! NATIONAL PUBLIC WORKS WEEK May 16 — 22, 2021 WHEREAS, the City of Tigard's Public Works professionals focus on infrastructure, facilities and services that are of vital importance to sustainable and resilient f communities and to the public health, quality of life and well-being of the people of ' Tigard; and, WHEREAS, these valuable services could not be provided without the dedicated efforts of public works professionals who are engineers, managers and employees at all levels of government and the private sector, who are responsible for rebuilding, improving and protecting our nation's transportation, water supply, water treatment and solid waste systems, public buildings, and other structures and facilities essential for { our community; and, WHEREAS, Tigard Public Works' mission impacts every person on a daily basis through their service to planning, building, managing and operating the city's Parks, Trails, Water supply, Streets, Sewer, Emergency Management, Sustainability and Public Facility maintenance. They keep the heart of our community operational; and, .,., WHEREAS, the year 2023 marks the 61St Annual National Public Works Week sponsored by the American Public Works Association; and, WHEREAS, "Stronger Together,"the theme for 2021 National Public Works Week, challenges communities to think about the role public works plays in creating a great place to live, and, WHEREAS, by working together, the impact community members and public works professionals have on their community is magnified and results in the ability to accomplish goals once thought unattainable. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVE©that I, Jason B.
