11/12/1963 - Minutes TIGARD WATER DISTRICT EXCERPTS FROM MINUTES (Verbatim) November 12, 19631 Mr. Ron Sorenson attended to ask about the availability of water to his property in the vicinity of S. W. Beef Bend Road and Vighvy 99, and as to how soon the water would be available. He was told that if he would present drawings and plans to the District they, would be given to the District's Engineer for cost estimates xpd a thorough study of the area so that he could :aake a deposit end work could begin as promptly 83 possible. A line abate policy will be set up for Mr. Sorenson. January 14, 1964: Martha Smith attended to find ou about the mmint of water available and the area which the Distrkt : cry es in the vicinity of Beef Bend Road and Highway 99 and the LIne Ex:ension Policy. The Board explained the availability of water to the area in question and the District's line extension policy. March 10, 1964s A delegation of people from S. W. Pacific Nichway and Beef Bend Road in the vicinity of Ron Sorenson's Sub-divis:lon attended to check a- bout the availability of water to residents of the area other than Mr. Sorenson's Sub-division and also the coat. April 14, 1964: Mr. Carter presented an estimate of $16,089.50 for Phase I (install- ation of a 12" line to Beef Bend Road) of the Tualatln Developmmt 410 Company's retirement village. Ue ..,n“exaticn proceedu.:e. Mr. Sorensen received permission to lay the 8" water line in the interior of the King City Property under the jurisdiction and in- spection of Mr. Carter. , • .. The clerk was instructed to write n letter to Ur. Sorensen which would include the following points: 1. That Mr. Sorensen is to contact Mrs. F. A. oore so that she will annex her property to the Wstrict. 2. That Mr. Sorensen then will annex hie King City property to the District. 410 4 1 Page 2 3. That the District will advertize for bids Phase I as soon as possible and let the Contractor start work as soon as Mr. Sorensen's deposit is received by the District. 4. That on the line down Beef Bend Road, there will be an engineering fee estimate on file and an acknowledgement from Mr. Sorensen that he knows what will be involved in the deal even though it is delayed. 5. That the interior line work is to be started by Mr. Soren- sen under the jurisdiction and inspection of Mr. Carter, Shoe with a contractor approved by the Board and Mr. Carter. July 14, 19642 Mr. Carter reported that the bids on the King City and View Crest Terrace jobs would be ready to be opened and awarded Friday noon. (7-17) The Engineer was instructed to inform Mr. Sorensen of King City of the amount to be considered as his share of coati. Motion was made by Mr. Brown to authorise the District Engineer to award the contracts and proceed with construction on the two bid openings assuming the low bidder is qualified and that the Beef Bend Rd. portion is to be started only after acknowledgement has been received from Mr. Sorensen of his acceptance of the pro rata share of costs. Motion was seconded by C. Tigard. Motion carried. August 11, 1964: King City Water -- Engineer reported that we are within one day of getting • water to King City, however total final costs have not been computed as yet. Engineer only has rough estimate of pro rata costs to King City. The Engineer will shortly have King City 2 3 ready to submit to the State Board of Health. We can either request Kling City to deposit cash • on the basis of the rough estimate or since we are close to finaling out we can bill on the basis of final estimate, as soon as it is compiled. It was reported to the board that only $72.71 was remaining on deposit for King City. No board action was taken on this matter. awe September 8, 1964: The clerk reported that a bill had been received frog. Bunyard d. Pettit in the amount of $6,207.60 for the installation of supply main on Pacific Hwy. and Bend Rd. to King City, and that only $72.71 remained on deposit on behalf of King City. The Board was requested to decide if the bill should be paid prior to receipt of an additional deposit from King City or held until additional monies were received from King City, Mr. Brom noted that as yet we do not have a signed pro rata agreement • with Hr. Sorenson of King City and could possibly be in a bind since the work is already completed on Bend Rd., if ha does not choose to enter into the pro rata agreement and did adonist the Board in this respect. The Board decided to ask King City for an additional deposit of $5,000 immediately and to pay any outstanding obligations upon receipt of this additiongl deposit. October 13, 1964: It was noted that King City has now paid the $4700 remainder of their construction costs, but the rebate agreement is as yet unsigned aitho it was noted that it should be signed before the week is out. King City does understand that this agreement carries the provision that no rebate will be due to King City for any hook-ups along Beef rend Road. January 12, 19651 The Board wished to express a desire that King City be made well aware of our policy regarding any water supplied for their use on the golf course. The administrator was charged with this responsibility and notification es related to the district.
