Arriving officers found a man with a gun inside his neighbor's garage in the 6800 block of SW Pine Street. Officers learned the man came to the neighbor's home in the middle of the night and made statements that led officers to believe he had been involved in a shooting. Officers got the man, who was identified as Michael Cornish, 40, to put the gun down and he was safely taken into custody. At Cornish's home, officers found his front door damaged from gunfire, as well as several spent shell casings and bullet holes inside. Officers searched the home for potential victims, but found none. It appears Mr. Cornish was under the influence of drugs at the time of this incident, and investigators do not believe anyone was actually shot. He was taken to jail on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and menacing. His booking photo is attached. Page 1 of 1
