Results from Speed Enforcement Campaign
The Tigard Police Department is proud to report the results from a safety campaign focused on
speed enforcement, which was held in September 2020.
During this enforcement period:
• Officers worked a combined total of 50 hours on the campaign
• They issued 91 speed citations
• They issued 4 driving while suspended citations and 8 other citations for various
infractions
• They gave 12 drivers warnings
This project is made possible thanks to federal grant dollars from the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration, which are then distributed by the Oregon Department of Transportation to
agencies providing overtime opportunities for officers to carry out the program.
This year, the Tigard Police Department also participated in safety campaigns and/or blitzes
targeting distracted drivers and focusing on correct seat belt and car seat usage.
