MARTY WINE DAY - OCTOBER 16, 2020
WHEREAS, Marty Wine began her distinguished career with the City of Tigard as City Manager in
2011; and
WHEREAS, Marty has been a solid presence for staff and community leaders and consistently .'
. encouraged regional collaboration to address complex issues like homelessness, budget challenges,
Covid-19 continuity of operations and transportation priorities affecting our city; and dish,
WHEREAS, Marty's Executive Leadership Team expressed their admiration for her skill and support as i
a sounding board, being a voice of calm with a thoughtful approach, her trust, compassion, community-
i� focus, skillful ability to unpack complex and challenging issues facing the city, her open-minded,
diplomatic, and humble leadership; and
3; WHEREAS, Marty provided leadership and advocacy throughout the community serving on the Board
of Directors for the Good Neighbor Center, the Washington Co. Cooperative Library Services Executive
rfr. Board, and the Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency, and exemplary service to
the community as part of the Tigard Rotary. She is a leader throughout the city management profession
, '- by serving as president of the Oregon City County Management Association; and %
WHEREAS, she exemplified true professionalism in her interactions with the City Council and
generously shared her deep bank of critical policy knowledge, always working for their success as e
community leaders; and
WHEREAS, the full scope of Marty's talents and dedication were evident in her work with the city's
Strategic Plan, City Report Card, successful Public Safety Levy, the city's Diversity Equity and Inclusion '
k= plan, the city's Anti-racism plan, and her professionalism and poise fostered relationship building with {�
our partners at Lake Oswego during the construction of the Lake Oswego-Tigard Water Partnership
} = projects which resulted in the successful delivery of the largest infrastructure project in Tigard's history
($129M/14 MGD)thereby assuring a clean, secure water source for decades to come; and `u=
WHEREAS, Marty maintained a steady hand in the midst of demanding times and organizational
w ` change, guided by her loyalty to the needs of the city council, staff and city residents; and
Yom; WHEREAS, she brought keen insight, strategic thinking, and fierce focus to tackle the challenges of a
3 keeping the city running smoothly and effectively during a global pandemic, economic recession and = R
over the past nine years, snow, flood, wind and wildfire emergency events; and
WHEREAS, she worked diligently with the City Council to develop Tigard AID, Tigard CARES, and
Tigard RAFT which supported those most in need because of COVID-19 while managing the needs of
W, staff who faced an uncertain work environment; and ,
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Jason B. Snider, Mayor of the City of Tigard, Oregon, ,T

in Tigard, Oregon in honor of the exemplary service she has given the City of Tigard, with special thanks `
for her professionalism, dedication to service and contributions towards making the Tigard community a -
great place to live.
