10/12/1989 - Minutes TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
OCTOBER 12, 1989
1. Call to order at 7:03 p.m.
2. Members present: Schweitz, Dusevoir, Etzel, Riewald, Waterman, and
Newcomb.
Other present: Randy Wooley, Liz Newton, and Stuart Cohen (Chair, City
Center Plan Task Force) .
3. Stuart Cohen explained the City Center Development Plan, how it will be
funded, and how funds will be allocated.
4. Liz Newton explained her new role as Community Relations Coordinator.
5. Approved minutes from August 10, 1989, meeting.
6. Greenburg/Cascade Intersection: Traffic signal to be bid in 1990. State
Highway Division has restriped Highway 217/Greenburg interchange.
7. Discussion of leftover Bond money when designated projects are completed.
No decision made at this time.
8. Bond and CIP Status:
Pfaffle Street project is progressing.
Locust Street project may be over budget.
Hall Boulevard/Bonita Road being realigned to south due to unstable
bank on north side.
Walnut/Grant crossing has some safety improvements.
Durham, Greenburg, Walnut, 121st, and Main Street Bridge projects will
start next summer.
9. CIP Budget Revision: Recommendation to City Council for funding of
Greenburg/Cascade signal and purchase of right-of-way may be denied due to
more urgent needs.
10. Other Business:
Northeast Bull Mountain Study information should be ready for the
public by November, 1989.
North Dakota Street: Residents on east side of 121st requesting
better access to 121st.
January, 1990: Begin update of 5 year comprehensive Plan.
