05/11/1989 - Minutes TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MINUTES — MAY 11, 1989
1 . Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
2. Members present: Schweitz, Etzel, Holland, Newcomb, Rosborough,
Waterman, Zanzig, Dusevoir
Others present: Randy Wooley, City Engineer
3 . Minutes of last meeting were approved.
4. 1989 90 Capital Improvement Program:
(Reference: Memo from Randy Wooley to TAC dated May 5, 1989)
Randy presented several projects for Committee consideration. His
recommendation is :
a. purchase two rights of—way (memo item #3)
b. signal at Greenburg and Cascade
Moved and seconded to accept Randy' s recommendation. Discussion centered
on the need and usefulness of a light at Greenburg/Cascade. Motion
defeated.
Discussion continued on design of 72nd Avenue/90W intersection.
Moved and seconded to acquire rights—of—way at Hall/Ross and Cascade
Blvd. , and hold the remainder in reserve. Recommend that the City
Engineer gather additional data for a light at Qreenburg/Caoade and design
of 72nd/99W. Motion carried; Dusevoir dissented (questioned need for
Cascade right—of—way) .
5. Anton Park followup:
Temporary traffic islands and signs will be tried with traffic counts
before and after construction. Should have some more information in 3 to
4 weeks.
6 . Other business :
- Neighborhood meetings on Bond project are continuing.
- Wednesday, May 17, Walnut Street neighborhood meeting. Some
committee members are requested to attend.
— Property owner on S.W. corner of Hall/McDonald: City Council has
authorized an appraisal .
— Trammel—Crow and Tigard Diamond proposals — in idea stage.

June meeting tentatively cancelled.
