Tigard Police are Investigating an Attempted Abduction
Tigard Police are investigating an attempted abduction that occurred on Thursday,August 20th between
6:30-7:00pm at the Winco on SW Dartmouth Street.
Around that time,a woman in her twenties pushed a shopping cart to her car that was parked next to a black
van with the passenger-side sliding door open.While she was loading groceries in the back seat on the
driver's side of her car,a male subject approached her from behind,grabbed her and tried to pull her
backward. She was able to fend him off and drive away to safety.
Descriptions:
The male is described as white,having gray/black hair,no facial hair,glasses,older,approximately 50 years
old, 6 ft,medium build with a "beer belly."He was wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
The victim saw a woman in the black van who was described as white,35-45 years old with a heavier build.
The van (not a mini van)is described as older,all black with no windows except for the front driver and
passenger door.
