I am a plumber by trade and I've been an inspector for way too long. I work for Wilsonville (full disclosure (3) I used Appendix A from the 2017 OPSC and Tom shared your response to his permit app with me. As you know, there are only two approved water sizing methods for plumbing systems, Chapter 6 and Appendix A both of which are included in the 2017 OPSC. Since the Chapter 6 method calculated a total WFU demand of 40(only one WFU above the allowed 39 4 • ' on a %" meter) I used Appendix A to size Tom's house. You can see on my calculation sheet that a 1" building supply is required, however that is not the meter size required. The meter may be 3 " as seen on Chart A-102.2 on page 167. As shown, I included the 13 psi pressure drop to calculate the allowable friction loss per 100'for the system. As far as I can see it works out. Would you mind having a second look at this? Tom is not a plumber so he doesn't get the minute details. Please let me know if you need any additional information. If Tigard doesn't accept Appendix A sizing, how do you normally make allowances for the "one fixture unit over" situations? I am a plumber by trade and I've been an inspector for way too long. I work for Wilsonville (full disclosure lit) I used Appendix A from the 2017 OPSC and Tom shared your response to his permit app with me. As you know, there are only two approved water sizing methods for plumbing systems, Chapter 6 and Appendix A both of which are included in the 2017 OPSC. Since the Chapter 6 method calculated a total WFU demand of 40(only one WFU above the allowed 39 on a %" meter) I used Appendix A to size Tom's house. You can see on my calculation sheet that a 1" building supply is required, however that is not the meter size required. The meter may be'/d' as seen on Chart A-102.2 on page 167.As shown, I included the 13 psi pressure drop to calculate the allowable friction loss per 100' for the system. As far as I can see it works out. Would you mind having a second look at this? Tom is not a plumber so he doesn't get the minute details. Please let me know if you need any additional information. Once the fee has been paid the plans will be routed offsite for building plan review. The permit technicians will contact you as soon as the permit is ready to issue and with instructions to pay the remaining fees due online.
