05/18/2017 - Summary Ped Bike Subcommittee—May 18, 2017 Buff Jonny, Stephan, Serge,Jen,Anna, Mike, Steve,Joyce, Buff, Cherokee, Basil Mike handed out the project list: Stephan concerned about Hall Blvd gravel, and Steve Boughton concerned about east on Bull Mountain. Mike said you he will ask about it. Cherokee asked about design of bike lanes at signals. Serge mentioned striping the left turns on Dartmouth and 99W, and Bonita and Hall so that cars can pass while he's turning. Steve B-4 kids signed up for Tigard summer camp. 10 max; 6 minimum. Annoucements: Campaign to slow down. We discussed the importance of speed violations. Creating a campaign is what Cherokee would like to see. May 22, 4-7:30—reception for Atwell Off Main Trail walk and talk events—Tigard Street Trail Thur,June 29,July 27, Aug 24, all at 4:OOpm at Tigard St Trail. Anna—Walk and Bike to School Day—A huge success.40%of people walked at the participating schools, and the Rodeo had a 55 participants. She also taught 3rd graders at CF Tigard, there were 90 students that got that. Metzger is going to teaching bike safety to 5th graders. The City of Tigard has a bike fleet of 30 bikes. We might suggest that Lincoln Center apply for the League of American Bicyclists bike friendly city will give such an award. Portland does an education program to 6th graders as part of the science curriculum. Bike to Market—For marketing of the event, people suggested Next Door, Meet Up, and Fb pages.
